enVision Math

Happy Sunday! Blogger look! I am all about it if it makes uploading pics faster! :) Ha!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We have a four day week ahead of us {Friday is an Inclement Weather Day that we have not used - PTL!!!}

This week we will learn all about:

Phonics: Inflections {got any fun stuff for THAT one???}

Writing: How To Writing {love this unit!!!!} - How to Plant a Flower

Comprehension: Summarizing {Tomie dePaola Author Study}

Math: 3 Addend Addition
Love this freebie from Froggie Went a Teachin! She has a ton of these games to go with different themes...even a Cinco de Mayo one! I love how it is Earth Day themed...go along perfectly with our Petals and Plants and our Earth Day activities for the next few weeks!
Science: Petals and Plants {Love all the great literature to go with this unit: The Tiny Seed, Planting a Rainbow}

Ok...let's get back to the title of the post! HA! We adopted a new math series, enVision! I have played around with the digital component and LOVE it  so far! We have put A LOT of work into our Math Menu for the past two years, so we don't really need more games or Number Work activities, but explicit mini lessons!

Anyone use enVision??? I am curious to see how many schools out there use this program.  Tips, tricks are welcome! :) I will share more as we dig into it!

Ahhh...the house smells of lasagna! YUM! Time to eat!

Have a great week, y'all! :) Only a few more to go!!! WE CAN DO IT!

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Shell!

Hey!!!! This teacher is super glad Monday is over! We did a little schedule change today and it threw my firsties {and me!} for a loop! We were feeling like our Math block was kind of getting the shaft, so we moved it to first thing in the morning. I think it will be great, but as you all know, a little schedule change means BIG behavior changes for those sweet 6 and 7 year olds! :)

Time to giveaway my newest Old Lady unit!!! This time, th
at crazy lady has swallowed a shell...and all things BEACHY!

CONGRATULATIONS to Kate, Brittany, Ms. Trinh, Ashley, Jill, and Jen R.
Thanks for your quick comments! :)
Please comment with your email address and I will send this unit to the first 6 {in honor of 6 weeks of school left!} people to respond!

Have a great week, y'all!

Daily Five posters

Hey friends!!! Hope everyone had a very happy Easter! We had lots of family stay with us and it was so much fun!

Let the countdown to summer begin! We have 6 full weeks after this week! SAY WHAT???? That is just crazy! I have an amazing class this year and I will be super sad to say bye to them! With that being said, I am SO excited about all things summer, though! Sleeping in, morning spin classes at the Y, lunch dates with friends, shopping, pool, beach, lake…oh the days!!!!! CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Thank you SO MUCH for your patience about the Daily Five posters and activity sheets. I am so sad that Scrib’d started charging for their downloads. I really liked the site and thought it was much more user friendly than Google Docs. BUT, now that is costs dollars, that is no good! SO, I decided to put the Daily Five posters on TpT. I put all six posters in one PDF for downloading ease. I really like having everything in one place! I am so sorry if you are not a TpT user. BUT I think you should sign up for a FREE membership and download all the fab FREE items on the site! :)

Click {HERE} to download the 6 posters {Read to Self, Read to Someone, Work on Writing, Word Work, Listen to Reading, and EEKK} AND the 5 fill in the blank anchor charts {all in one PDF} from TpT OR you can click anytime on the Daily Five button above to download from TpT.

Have a GREAT week, y’all!
